Danone Recalls So Delicious Salted Caramel Cluster Frozen Dessert Over Possible Stone Contamination: Here’s the latest

Danone USA has issued a nationwide recall for So Delicious Dairy Free Salted Caramel Cluster Non-Dairy Frozen Dessert, announced September 15, after small stones and other hard objects were discovered in some pint containers. The affected product was distributed to retail locations throughout the United States, meaning shoppers in multiple states could have the recalled item sitting in their freezers right now. Only the Salted Caramel Cluster variety sold in pint-sized containers is subject to the action — no other So Delicious Dairy Free flavors or products are included.

Consumers should look for two specific identifiers on the bottom of any pint in their freezer: UPC 744473476138 and a best-by date on or before April 3, 2028. That extended date range means pints purchased months ago could still be on hand. Danone says the potential contaminants — small stones and other hard materials — may be present within the cashew inclusions mixed into the dessert. The company became aware of the problem through consumer complaints and moved to initiate the recall. Product shipped after the recall action is not affected, and unaffected containers of the same flavor may still be on some store shelves, making it essential to verify the UPC and date rather than discarding any So Delicious product by default.

Danone says consumers who have a matching pint should not eat it and should dispose of the product. Those seeking a remedy can reach the So Delicious Dairy Free Consumer Care Line at 1-833-367-8975, Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. ET, to request either a refund or a replacement coupon.

Foreign material can find its way into packaged food at several points, including raw ingredients, processing equipment, and transportation. Manufacturers rely on tools such as metal detectors, X-ray systems, and optical sorting equipment to catch contaminants before products leave the facility, though no method eliminates the risk entirely — a reality illustrated by recalls that surface only after consumer reports. Anyone with a pint bearing UPC 744473476138 and a best-by date no later than April 3, 2028, should set it aside, avoid consuming it, and contact So Delicious directly for guidance on obtaining a refund or replacement.
